Red
Hi, my name is Red and I am one happy
goat. I wasn’t always so happy, though. I used to live in a place
where people were not nice to me so I ran away when I was about three
months old. I was glad to be away from the mean people but then I got
lost in the city. I was terrified of all the cars zooming by and honking
at me and people running after me. I was so scared and hot and thirsty
and tired. Finally, after a long time a nice policeman found me running
down the road. He took me in his car to a lady who knew my new human
mom. The lady asked my new mom if I could live with Louie
and Lucy. I was worried that she’d say
“No” but she didn’t, she said "Yes!" When
I got to the farm I was still very frightened but my mom said “Welcome
Home, Red Head” and scratched under my chin and I felt a little
better. That was the best day of my whole life. No one tied a rope around
my neck anymore and there was plenty of food and water. I couldn’t
believe how lucky I was. I knew I would be safe here and that no one
would ever hurt me again. We have fans to keep us cool in the summer
and my mom makes sure that we always have everything we need. I love
it here so much that I am always a very good girl. I never shove to
get to the treats and I stand very still for my mom when she trims my
hooves. I will never leave my forever home!
