ANIMALS - Goats - Louie

Louie the goat

Louie

My name is Louie. I am a goat. I am, if I do say so myself, a very special boy! I am the whole reason Welcome Home Barnyard Sanctuary got started. When I was only one day old a man sold my mom to someone who didn’t want me. I was so cold and hungry and frightened! What would happen to me? Luckily, my new human mom came along and took me to her house. I was very sick, so she took me to the doctor and took care of me. I liked living in a house and sleeping in bed with my new mom and sister sheep, Lucy, but I always really wanted to live on a farm with more room to run and play! Finally, my mom found a place where we could all live together on a real farm. Mom and Lucy and I moved to the farm. I knew I would be safe and happy here forever but I also knew (because my mom told me) that there were a lot of other farm animals that needed help. Mom and Lucy and I decided that any barnyard animal that needed help and a safe place to live would be welcome to come and live with us. So that’s how it all started. Now we have lots of friends. We share our home with goats, sheep, chickens, horses, rabbits, ducks, cows, turkeys, and even a pig and a buffalo! When each one gets here, we tell them “Welcome home to our barnyard sanctuary!” So, you see, I am a VERY special boy!
